Talent and skills: What is the importance of professional training in green and digital transitions?

Launched in 2016, the initiative aims to highlight the benefits of professional training in people of any age with events and activities throughout the European Union. This year, European Vocational Skills Week 2020 takes place only in digital format.

"Discover your talent, your journey and your choice". This is the motto of the European Vocational Skills Week 2020 (EVSW 2020), 100% digital and ending this Friday, November 13th. With the theme "Vocational Education and Training for Green and Digital Transitions", the 2020 edition encourages the discovery of talents and the development of skills according to the needs of the labor market, through vocational education.

In line with one of the European Commission's (EC) priorities for making Europe greener, the week focuses on professional training for green and digital transitions. Within EVSW 2020, local, regional and national organizations in the European Union, and beyond, are organizing virtual events and activities, highlighting the benefits of this type of training. In a statement, the EC guarantees that more than 781 events and associated activities have already been registered in 38 countries, reaching more than 1.6 million people.
How did entities take part in the initiative? When organizing or taking part in an event or activity, voting for nominees at the VET Excellence Awards or sharing your story regarding professional training.
