Associação de professores cria academia para contornar problemas do ensino profissional

Chama-se Academia: prática simulada e é uma resposta para os alunos que estão a terminar o ensino profissional e que podem desta forma concorrer ao Ensino Superior. O projeto foi desenvolvido no âmbito da ANPRI, Associação Nacional de Professores de Informática, e é destinada aos alunos dos cursos profissionais, especialmente os que estão no ano terminal, ou seja, o 3º ano, que corresponde a 12º ano.

Vocational education and training (VET) is a key element of lifelong learning systems, which equip citizens with knowledge, skills and competences required in particular occupations and on the labour market.
VET responds to the needs of the economy, but also provides learners with skills important for personal development and active citizenship. VET can also boost enterprise performance, competitiveness, and research and innovation and is a central aspect of successful employment and social policy.

O secretário de Estado da Educação referiu que "Não é aceitável ter alunos a quem se diz 'tu tens boas notas, não vás para o ensino profissional", por se considerar menos prestigiante, e que "Portugal ainda não meteu na cabeça que o 12.º ano do curso de pastelaria é tão válido e tão digno como o 12.º ano do curso de línguas e humanidades.

Em Portugal, a taxa de sucesso do Ensino Profissional nunca foi tão alta

No ano letivo 2017/2018, 63% dos alunos inscritos no ensino profissional concluíram o curso nos três anos previstos. Este número é o mais alto de sempre e representa um aumento significativo relativamente aos últimos anos. O ministro da Educação, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, destaca a importância da valorização do ensino profissional e refere que esta via de ensino deve ter a mesma qualidade das demais.

What do you Europeans think of VET?

Four years ago, in 2016, CEDEFOP (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) surveyed Europeans in order to know what they thought about Vocational Education and Training. More than 35 000 interviews were conducted and the results were very interesting: even though 2 out of 3 citizens have a positive image of VET and 87% of students are happy with their work-related skills because it allows them to find a job quickly, 84% of EU citizens agree general education still has a more positive image than VET and 3 out of 4 consider that VET is the choice of low-grade students.

New CEDEFOP database

CEDEFOP (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) launches a new platform with data from VET systems across the European Union, Iceland and Norway. It consists of a comprehensive database to help understand similarities and differences of national VET systems, with "detailed information about each VET programme type, including qualification levels, share of work-based learning, providers and target groups".
